Proximity Systems

   This system was a joint venture between DTI and Proximity Systems, Inc.  This was DTI's pioneer effort into USB device development.  Currently, the product is installed in four hospital pilot sites throughout Texas.  Proximity Systems develops custom cabinetry for hospitals.  They asked DTI to develop a USB device that will allow hospital staff access to medicines stored in cabinets in patient rooms.  In one of the pilot sites, the system recently received a "best practice" nod by The Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
